Transtibial Prosthetics in Tunisia

A transtibial prosthesis is for people with a below-knee or BK amputation. It includes a custom socket, silicone or polyurethane liner, adapter and prosthetic foot. Cure Care fits patients in Sousse and Tunis with CE-certified components.

Components of a transtibial prosthesis

The socket is critical: it must closely fit the residual limb for comfort and force transfer. The liner protects the skin and improves grip. The prosthetic foot is selected by activity level, from K1 to K4: SACH, energy-storing-and-return (ESAR) or dynamic feet.

Diabetic below-knee amputation

Transtibial amputation is common among people with diabetes. Cure Care provides multidisciplinary follow-up including vascular assessment, residual-limb healing and gait rehabilitation. Early fitting can significantly improve functional outcomes.

Transtibial silicone liner and sleeve

The silicone liner sits between the residual limb and socket. It absorbs shocks, helps prevent skin injury and secures the prosthesis with suction or a distal lock. Cure Care offers Ossur, Ottobock and Bionest liners suited to each anatomy.

Rehabilitation and post-fitting follow-up

Gait rehabilitation with a transtibial prosthesis generally takes 4 to 8 weeks. Our physiotherapists and prosthetists in Sousse and Tunis provide adjustments, liner renewal and foot adaptation as the residual limb changes.
