Myoelectric Prosthetics in Tunisia
A myoelectric prosthesis detects muscle contractions through EMG electrodes to operate artificial fingers, a hand or an elbow. Cure Care provides complete myoelectric fitting in Sousse and Tunis: functional assessment, socket, training and follow-up.
How does a myoelectric prosthesis work?
Two electrodes inside the socket detect myoelectric signals from flexor and extensor muscles. A microprocessor translates them into precise hand or elbow movements. Myoelectric rehabilitation usually lasts 4 to 12 weeks depending on amputation level.
Compatible amputation levels
Myoelectric prosthetics suit transradial (below-elbow), transhumeral (above-elbow) amputations and wrist disarticulations. For very short residual limbs, they may be combined with body-powered control.
